Fitting and The Federation IV & Federation IV Deluxe
The new Federation IV is made from a set of blocks which have not been used in over 30 years. After checking both the fit and the size we noticed a difference between this model and the previous one. The BlockThis block is a great improvement on the previous one offering better proportions and is much easier to obtain a result. It will suit many head shapes as it is much better proportioned.
The SizeThe actual size measurement is appoximately 1/2 a size smaller than previous models. What does this mean? Those who have purchased Federations in the past will notice the difference in fit. Those who have not purchased before should take note of the table below.
Previous Federation ownersIf you used the adjustment tape to adjust the size stay with your current size. The fit of the new hat will be firmer.
If you used only a very small amount of tape or none at all and your fit was snug, we recommend you go up a size.
New customers
Measure your head, just above the ears with a dress makers tape measure. Pull the tape firm but not tight and use the table below to choose your size. Please ask us for advice if you are unsure, customers who take the time to check with us have very few problems.

We offer a generous exchange policy if things do not work out, since we have implemented our double checking size policy we have intercepted errors and the exchange rate has dropped from over 10% to less than 2%.
